Holloway to play Benefit concert to raise funds for local film Dec 2
Grand Rapids, Mich. – Grand Rapids-based Brandella Films announced plans today for a benefit concert to be held December 2, 2009 to benefit their production of the feature film, “A Daughter’s Hope.”

The concert, dubbed “The Always Have Hope Benefit Concert,” will be held at Billy’s Lounge, located at 1437 Wealthy St. SE, and will feature Muskegon-based Holloway as the headliner. Grand Rapids-based Night Toucher will open the show. Doors open at 8:30p and the bands hit the stage at 9p. Holloway’s first CD, “Illusions,” was released earlier this year

"A Daughter's Hope" is the fictional telling of the true life events of Michigan resident Christine Hill as she struggles to overcome an extraordinarily difficult and abusive life, the most painful part of which was the unexplained disappearance of her mother from the Florida Keys in 1981. While the case is still unresolved, this particular story focuses on Ms. Hill as she fights with setback after setback, only to become a stronger wife and mother to her own family. Ms. Hill is expected to be in attendance at the concert.

Tickets for the concert, a cooperative effort between Brandella Films and local promoter Barb Smith, will be $10 at the door, and proceeds will go towards the production of the film. A portion of the film’s ultimate profits will go to charities that deal with domestic violence and missing loved ones.

Donations to the production of the film can also be made in lieu of the benefit concert at http://www.brandellafilms.com/daughtersHope.html

Brandella Films, LLC, based in Grand Rapids, produced their first project in 2008; a short film entitled Respect for the Dead, which was an official selection to the 2009 Muskegon Film Festival. They hope to begin shooting on A Daughter’s Hope sometime in 2010 in Michigan.

Ross to appear on Interactive Internet radio show on Sun Nov 8, at 5 pm
"Until You Walk the Path, You Don’t know Where it Goes" is proud to host Christine Hill and Ross Morgan as they talk about the benefit concert and their docudrama, “A Daughter’s Hope.” Designed to raise funds to cover the production cost for “A Daughter’s Hope”, both Hill and Morgan hope to raise awareness of domestic violence and missing loved ones.

Tune at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/theresachaze on November 8 at 5 pm eastern to learn more about true cost of domestic violence. Those who wish to speak to Christine Hill and Ross Morgan may call in at (347) 324-3745 or participate in the interactive chat room, which is available on the show’s page.

Until You Walk the Path, You Won’t Know Where it Goes is an interactive internet radio show, which takes a broader look at the topic of spirituality. Instead of focusing on the religious aspects of life, it delves into how our spirits inspire us to be our best and highest selves. The goal is to give a venue to those who wish to share their inspiration, their wisdom and their courage. By sharing our experiences, we not only give encouragement others to reach for their dreams, but to also help.

heres the article:
The Concept of Illusions
Written by J. Bennett Rylah

Holloway released its
epic, prog-rock concept album
Illusions in March of 2009. Well-received by rock/metal fans, Illusions received considerable attention for both the music and gloomy custom album artwork completed by area painter Susan Van Sant.

The trouble with concept albums in the live arena is that a band rarely has time to barrel through an album’s length of storytelling,
so the full musical journey is rarely completed outside of the album itself. Holloway is remedying this situation Oct. 17, when they’ll play their entire album at Mulligan’s.

Josh Morgan, guitarist and vocalist for Holloway, used his interest in paranormal research to craft the dismal tale of Illusions. “A guy loses his girlfriend and attempts to resurrect her or contact her soul,” Morgan said. “He tries all different occult things – everything from Ouija boards to incantation. He essentially fails miserably. He never finds her; he’s looking in the wrong place.”

He promises there is a more intricate ending to be figured out by the listener. Morgan,a fan of concept albums, intends that all of
Holloway’s albums following a plotline.

“It makes the album more cohesive and it gives you something to go with,” Morgan said. “It’s like being a film director. You make
a complete film, and you make something different the next time..”

Much like a film, Illusions has its share of climaxes and dénouements, moving from delicate piano work to pounding drums and screeching guitar and back again as the album progresses.

“If you’re into music, it’s definitely an emotional experience. If you can grasp hold of how it’s played, it should move you,” said Shawn Julien, Holloway’s guitarist.

Illusions was mixed and mastered by Swedish metal engineer
extraordinaire Jens Bogren, but recorded by Morgan’s brother, Josh, at Seaway Studios by only three members: Morgan, Josh
(bass) and Julien. Since then, Holloway has picked up Kevin Schaner on keys and vocals and Rob Parkkonnen on drums, enabling them to recreate the album’s complexity live. “Live shows have lots of movement,” Julien said. “We try to throw down as hard as possible and realize it’s a performance. There’s
never a dull moment.”

“It’s fun and it’s exciting,” Morgan agreed. “We’re not a band that’s trying to sell you the song, we’re just playing a good song and playing it well and that’s all you need.”

After many, many hours of work, and many, many, dirty martinis, Holloway is gearing up to release our fist album entitled "Illusions".

The album features 11 tracks of blood, redemption, and sheer bone crushing epicness. The story follows that of one man searching for his lost loves soul.

Mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren, the sonic mastermind behind Opeth and Katatonia (as well as many others), Illusions is sure to rock your world... per se. As soon as artwork, track listings, and releases dates become available, I will be sure to keep you posted.
